From The Principal's Desk - June 2010

Dear Immaculate Heart of Mary School Class of 2010,

It is with great pride that I write this letter on behalf of myself and the faculty and staff to send you on your way to the next four years of high school.

You began your educational trek by being taught and lead through each step of the learning process. You are ending your journey here at IHM knowing how to direct your own learning. You have allowed your parents and teachers to teach you how to think and how to make inquiry into things of interest.

"There is a giant asleep within every man. When the giant awakes,
miracles happen."
Frederick Faust

Be sure to always keep your eyes and ears open to recognize those miracles. God intends them just for you, so don't miss or waste them with distraction.

"I don't know what your destiny will be, but one thing I do know:
The only ones among you who will be really happy are those who have sought and found how to serve."
- Albert Schweitzer

You have all willingly served others throughout your time here. Your service to others or to the greater community has helped to make you who you are today. Always remember that it is only through this recognition of a Presence that is greater than yourselves that you will discover who you are and who you are intended to be.

You have experienced God's gentle embrace during your time at Immaculate Heart of Mary School. As you continue to have success in your lives, remember to say "Thank you God for all you have given to me". When you experience the challenges that life gives to you, remember that they are God's way of calling you back to Him so that you can experience His embrace once again. You are never alone.

I wish all of you the best that life has to offer. Go in His embrace and be happy.

With much love and affection,

Maureen E. Rooney, Principal
